Some Nights May Never End

Some nights, I think, may never end,
Though night and day aren't really real.
We watch the planets make a turn,
The sun and stars a new day burn,
Tectonic plates,
And fluid fates,
And one more secret to conceal.
Some secrets, I hope never end,
Though secrets are a plan to Him.
He holds a throne of gold on high,
And turns the best laid plans awry.
Another fall,
An unheard call
Degrades our hopes of help to whim.
So hopes, I hope, may never end,
Though hopes themselves with dreamers fly.
We find obsessions on the way,
A truer path, or so we say,
Some compromise,
Some choice unwise,

And then the pen and paper sigh.
